Ruud de Bruyn : owner : supervisor
Founder of Loods Lux & Lumen in 2003. Ruud started his career as a cameraman. Later he also worked as a director. Ruud started Loods at the time when shooting in HD started to take off but postproduction facilities offering this format were nowhere to be found. It was also HD that started his interest for digital cinema. Together with Cinemanet Netherlands and some European partners he gave birth to the first digital installations in the Netherlands, feeding mainly arthouses. These installations were based on the E-cinema standard, using a high bit rate MPEG2 HD file. Ruud specialized in this format, encoding movies into it and wrapping and encrypting the content for secure distribution. Today he knows his way well around into DCinema aswell. Ruud continues to expand his knowledge in this field, getting ready for 3d aswell.
Jef Grosfeld : supervising colorist : co-owner
Jef’s career actually started on set. His passion was to become a legendary director of photography. Starting out as a lighting assistant he spend his first years getting to know film equipment and it’s way of life. This grew into being a camera assist and in spare time shooting some stuff himself. Gradually he got into post production, following d.o.p. Reinier van Brummelen for whom he has worked many years. This is where his passion for digital film and esspecially colorgrading started. In between jobs he started CUT Films with a friend. Producing music videos, corporate stuff etc. In 2005 he met Ruud who asked him to join Loods. Within Loods Jef really started to get into colorgrading which later became a succesfull part of the company. Jef has graded numerous documentaries, commercials and feature projects.
Mike Vosmaer : general postproducer
Mike has been working for Loods in the past and now, after graduating, he’s back with us. He will be doing mastering, assisting and prepping for our colorgrading suite and work on encoding for digital cinema. That’s allround!
